Out Of My Comfort Zone

A photography comfort zone…

Tonight was the night I decided to step out of my comfort zone and have a crack at some nighttime photography. So, armed with my Nikon D5100, tripod and remote release and a small torch, I headed off into Queens Park.

Here are some of the results of my night out.

For a first genuine attempt at night time photography I’m pretty happy – but I’m sure that there is plenty of room for improvement.

All photos were taken in manual mode using an ISO of 400. I used DxO Optics Pro for noise reduction, then Lightroom for some spot  (flare) removal and to finish off.

Rick - The Occasional Photoblogger

I am Invercargill photographer Rick Harvey – aka The Occasional Photoblogger. I consider myself an opportunist photographer and enjoy taking photographs of ordinary things I see around me, and try to make them appear a little less ordinary and interesting, and while it is always nice to have others appreciate my images, my primary goal is to take photographs that make me happy.
